Sevenoaks & District Green Party meets monthly. We discuss topics of current interest and agree actions to raise awareness and lobby for change.
The next meeting will be in Sevenoaks on Monday September 9th at 7.30 pm.
Please contact email@example.com for more information, or if you need transport to attend the meeting.
Sevenoaks & District Green Party covers the area administered by Sevenoaks District Council. It is a relatively large area geographically, extending from Swanley to Edenbridge. Most people in the area live in the Parliamentary constituency of Sevenoaks, but those in the Edenbridge area fall within Tonbridge & Malling constituency.
The Greens stood candidates in nearly all the Sevenoaks wards at the 2017 elections, as well as contesting both Parliamentary constituencies, and we were very pleased with the level of support our candidates received at the polling station.
The Greens also have a councillor on Kent County Council, representing a ward in east Kent.
We want to build on this success to ensure Green issues are at the heart of local and regional government. To do this, we need people willing to stand as candidates - so if you have a commitment to your local community and share our values of living within our environmental means do get in touch.
Candidates must support the main aims and policies of the Green Party.
As a member, you can be as active as you like - from armchair and online support to standing as a candidate for election.
Join via the National Green Party https://www.greenparty.org.uk and they will notify us in the Sevenoaks branch so that we can welcome you personally.
Even if you don't want to make the commitment of joining us, we always welcome supporters and volunteers. Volunteers can help with our campaigning work. Could you help deliver leaflets to your street, or go out with our campaign team and speak to local residents about their concerns?
Do you have fundraising experience or web design, press, research and administrative skills? Whatever your level of experience and however much or little time you can give, we would love to hear from you.
Join via the National Green Party https://www.greenparty.org.uk and they will notify us in the Sevenoaks branch.
Members of Parliament are elected to represent their constuents in Parliament - both those who vote for their party and those who don't. We urge Green supporters to use this right to ensure your local MP knows your views on environmental and related matters.
